All participants, speakers, sponsors, volunteers and organizers at our events and on our messaging platforms are required to agree with the following code of conduct. Organizers will enforce this code. We expect cooperation from all participants to help ensure a safe environment for everyone.
The Quick Version
Our events and messaging platforms are dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion, beliefs, or technology choices. We do not tolerate harassment in any form. Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate for any venue, including talks, workshops, parties, Twitter and other online media. Event participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the event at the discretion of the organizers. For paid events, no refund will be given.
The Less Quick Version
We are dedicating to providing a harassment-free experience for all participants.
Harassment includes
- offensive comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion (or lack thereof)
- deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following
- harassing photography or recording
- sustained disruption of event activities
- inappropriate physical contact
- unwelcome sexual attention
Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.
If a participant engages in harassing behavior, organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or expulsion from the event or messaging platform.
Inappropriate content includes
- material that harasses or intimidates any group
- material that depicts violence or cruelty
- hate speech
- sexualized images or material
- sexualized clothing/uniforms/costumes
Participants asked to remove inappropriate content are expected to comply immediately.
If a participant is responsible for inappropriate content, organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or expulsion from the event or messaging platform.
Enforcement
Upon expulsion from the event or messaging platform, organizers may contact venue security, local law enforcement, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe. For paid events, no refund will be given.
Reporting a Violation
If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact an organizer immediately. During events, organizers can often be identified wearing branded t-shirts or badges.
You may also submit an anonymous violation report at any time.
